Pathways to Change is a non-profit organization that is 100% women led and managed. The organization focuses on health systems strengthening for effective service provision.

Pathways to Change works with vulnerable communities and target populations, government departments and various stakeholders  to advance sexual and reproductive health and rights in communities around South Africa. We have been providing services for health systems strengthening since 2001 and supported programs in the Eastern Cape, Gauteng, Kwa-Zulu Natal, Northern Cape, North-West, Free State and Western Cape provinces.

Our Areas Of Expertise

Adolescents & Youth

Adolescents and youth (10-24 years) have the right to live healthy sexual and reproductive lives. However, many adolescents and youth lack the information, skills, agency, and access to services that enable them to fulfill that right.

Sexual Reproductive Health & Rights

Strengthen primary health care clinics and community health workers so more people in more places have access to the contraceptive information and services they need.

HIV/AIDS and TB

Deliver comprehensive care for adolescents and young people living HIV and their families at times and locations that are convenient to them.

Peer Education Programme

The programme is intended to empower young people to pass knowledge and skills on to their peers who come from similar backgrounds and are experiencing similar life challenges.

Population Health and Environment

Together with various partners, Pathways to Change improves community knowledge of the links between human and ecosystem health and the relevance of rights-based family planning as contributing to environmental sustainability.

Comprehensive Abortion Care

Focused on capacity building of communities and health systems to enable free and early access to safe abortion services in the Eastern and Western Cape Provinces.

Menstrual Health Management

Ensuring that myths, taboos, and stigma around menstruation are addressed by providing women, girls, men, and boys access to information on menstruation.
